Really grooved with this one. The analog-sounding lead synth is very nice, and perfectly compliments the very phat drum line that pounds this song along. Especially love what sounds like low bitrate synths that serve as a very effective soundscape. Great job! :D

It's been a pleasure to keep up with your music the last couple of years. Your continuous exploration of troubled identity through folk punk has only gotten better over time, and I particularly enjoy this song, especially since it leans more into the electric side of punk. Keep up the good work, Valerie! :D

Goddammit Janet

Very mysterious track; it makes me feel like I'm in a situation where something's not quite right and the intensity involved with such a feeling of displacement (I think liminal is what the kids are calling it these days :P).

My favorite aspect to this track is that the drum breaks don't feel in your face -- they're more part of the soundscape than a heavy rhythmic accompaniment to said soundscape, which might help with the more broody aspects.

Overall, this is a real nice track that manages to convey something fairly unique, at least to me.

tl;dr: Oooh nice and spooky :)

Beyond glad you picked up on the breaks. I've been stuck, ever since I made this track, on why it scratches such a specific itch to me and I really think you hit the nail on the head. Forever so so grateful to receive feedback from u <3

Haha I love the rocking out on this track! The mixing in of electronic glitching goes down well, even (or especially) when it just goes all out at the end. I think having the guitars being obvious samples helps makes this work. The flow works nicely as well; I really enjoy the variety in dynamics (especially when its easy with a track like this to just be loud the entire time) and drum solo in the middle.

Overall, I really have fun listening to this track, and would absolutely mosh to it if given the chance. :D

aw tyty! i'd love to do more tracks like this in the future, eventually :]

Interesting! The guitar and the lyrics feel steeped in indie/emo of the 00s, but your vocal delivery (melody, tone, autotune) remind me more of modern pop/hip-hop songs.

Overall you've got a nice, pared down track that doesn't overstay its welcome. Nice job! :)

Nice track! Love the groove on this one, and the addition of unintelligible dialogue as soundscape is very nice!

It does get a bit too repetitive, but it would flourish from some variety in structure. Perhaps a change in chord progression or some interesting vox on top?

But overall, good job! :)

this sounds like shit

Wow. Really enjoyed the journey you took me on this one. It's very calming, with a nice blanket of sound and melody that carried me through to the end. A very mature understanding of atmosphere is present. I will definitely have to keep coming back to this.

Interesting piece! The use of rain sounds and the bookending record sound brings to mind lo-fi hip hop, but the actual composition uses electronic music and dissonance in a way that's reminiscent of an FL Studio-based Boards of Canada or some of Knox's early music work.

I enjoy the variety throughout, and that you utilize different parts at different times while keeping the piece cohesive. I esepcially enjoy the "drop" at around 2:20, and how it kind of takes us out of the piece into a darker place for a bit before going back into the environment you've set up.

The piece gives me the feeling that there's something in the rain that's not supposed to be there and the nervousness that surrounds witnessing this creature, or possibly the creature witnessing you. But in the end, was the creature ever really there at all? That's just my personal take on it, though. :P

Overall, it's not something I would pick out to listen to on a whim, but it was a rewarding listening experience. Well done!

Btw, make sure that your piece lines up with the AIM rules! I think you need the tag "aim2023", the piece you're inspired by needs to be in the Art Portal, and you need to post this song in the submissions thread. Just wanna make sure you qualify. :)
